These four very unusual costumes were made for a Segway promotion handled by Conspiracy Creative, a wonderful marketing firm in South Carolina. The coolest thing about them was that they had neon fiber optic cord bordering the designs on the sides of the costume and the helmet so that they glowed a brilliant aquamarine color in low light. It makes them "electric", so to speak.

Dale, pretty cool that you are doing work for Segway. You need to negotiate to get one for you and your staff to tool around on.
Is that really fiber optic, or did you mean to say it was Electroluminescent strip?
Thanks, Bob! I hear the Segways are pretty cool but I've never ridden one yet.
Chris, I think you're right in calling it electroluminescent. It was basically a some sort of thin cord or wire embedded in a clear plastic casing. Have no real idea how it works, though, I just know it's cool as hell.
Now THAT will be interesting to see rolling through a park on a Segway! :D
Dale,
I got to tool around one in a parking lot a year ago or so. We were down in Florida for a winter break and there was a company that rented them out and gave tours all over town. I got to demo one for about 10 minutes. If I had some disposable cash I'd love to get one. It was really easy to use -- basically you leaned forward or backwards and off you go.
That is so cool!
